New Series of Whole House Ventilators
Expanding on its line of ceiling-mounted ventilators, Broan Manufacturing Co. has introduced the Guardian Series of remote-mounted, whole-house ventilators. This represents a big step by a major national manufacturer. All the units use permanently lubricated motors designed for continuous operation. They are designed to be mounted outside the living space to reduce fan noise. Removable access panels make maintenance easier.
Broan also offers many accessories for the Guardian Systems, such as motorized dampers, dehumidistats, programmable time controls, low voltage kits, slot vent fresh air inlets and flow measuring devices.

 Energy Recovery Ventilator
This air-to-air heat exchanger recaptures some of the heat that would be lost when exhausting stale air. Broan offers a choice between two heat exchange cores. The "enthalpic" core allows moisture to pass between the stale air and fresh air streams. This works well in cold, dry climates where good ventilation tends to make the air too dry. It might also work in warm climates where homes are continuously air-conditioned. For cool, moist climates and rooms with high levels of humidity (spas and pools), the moisture-blocking, "non-enthalpic" core would be the better choice. The Guardian ERV offers electronic variable speed control, insulated housing, built-in defrost, balancing dampers and washable filters. A service light and audible tone remind occupants to clean the filters. |

The "high pressure" blowers on this unit are designed to operate against the high static pressure found in extensive duct systems. The housing features four, 4 in. round duct inlets and one, 6 in. duct outlet. You can cap unneeded inlets with intake covers. Mounting brackets can be repositioned for different orientations. Air flow is certified by the Home Ventilating Institute. |
The housing has one, 6 in. inlet and one, 6 in. outlet. However, pickup grilles can be placed in more than one location by installing branched ductwork. Fans with three capacities are available: 107 cfm, 145 cfm and 207 cfm. Air flow is certified by the Home Ventilating Institute. |
