Thick attic insulation can interfere with adequate attic ventilation. The Raft-R-Mate is a sturdy, lightweight baffle from the makers of Foamular rigid insulation that maintains a clear path for air flow. The baffle is made from extruded polystyrene (XPS), although it's too thin to offer much additional insulating value over the wall top plate.

The XPS material resists moisture damage and decay. The panels are 22.5 x 44 inches, so they fit 24 inch rafter spacing. Perforations down the center valley allow the panel to be snapped in half to 11.25 inches for narrower spacing.
