Sante Fe Complete IAQ System

The Sante Fe from Therma-stor Products is a complete indoor air quality machine. By itself, it operates as an extremely high-efficiency dehumidifier. Connect it with a duct to an outside air inlet, and it supplies the house with fresh, dry air. Add an ultra-efficient air filter (also from Therma-stor) and you have the ultimate clean air system.

At 6.8 pints/kWh, the basic dehumidifier is more energy efficient than any other residential units. It can remove over 100 pints of water per day. Despite a much higher capacity, it consumes about the same amount of electricity as other household models.

The basic unit is portable, mounted on casters and has a 6-ft., 115-volt power cord. The standard filter is a 35-percent efficient (dust spot test), pleated filter that removes pollen, mold and larger household particles. The basic unit is priced at $995.

The Sante Fe also can supply fresh, dry air if you install a duct to connect the dehumidifier with an outside air inlet. Another duct connected to the return plenum of a forced-air furnace draws air from the whole house through the unit. A separate exhaust fan would operate at the same time to expel stale air, completing the ventilation system.

The optional ultra-high-efficiency HEPA filter (98 percent DOP efficiency) can remove particles as tiny as viruses. With a HEPA filter, the Sahara becomes a complete indoor air quality machine that dehumidifies, filters and ventilates.

A built-in dehumidistat controls the unit and can be set anywhere between 20 and 80 percent relative humidity. The fan, a 200 cfm blower used in other Therma-stor products, also can operate continuously.
