ISO-VENT Vented Roof Insulation

Shingle manufacturers are concerned about the effect of heat on shingle life and performance. Most warranties require roofs to be ventilated. That's not difficult with an attic, but exposed-rafter cathedral ceilings pose a problem. ISO-VENT was designed to solve this problem. It combines insulation and vent channels into one product. The polyisocyanurate panels are flat on the bottom, but have ridges on the top. The ridges are 16 inches on center and create a one-inch gap for air flow. Glass-reinforced facers are bonded to both sides. Unlike other vented roof panels, a separate nailing surface, such as plywood or OSB, must be added. This gives the builder flexibility to choose the appropriate material.

The panels come in four thicknesses: 2-1/2 inch (R-14), 3-inch (R-18.6), 3-1/4 inch (R-20), 3-1/2 inch (R-22.3) and 4-inch (R-25.7).
