RYECO Products now offers an off-the-shelf air sealing solution for pipes and vents. Plumb Seal is a six-inch square of ABS plastic with a collar that clamps around pipes. Plastic sheets or drywall press against strips of neoprene foam to make an air seal-no caulking necessary. The 1-1/2-inch model fits drain pipes, while the 3-inch model is intended for vent stacks. Both have slits for slipping around pipes already in place. The 1-1/2-inch model can also be placed on top of drywall for retrofit air sealing. Both models sell for $2.99 to contractors.
