Compact Fluorescent Table Lamp

Where is the biggest lighting load in a home? According to a 1991 survey done by Pacific Gas & Electric, the highest loads by far are in the living rooms and bedroom, where most of the lighting tends to come from table lamps and floor lamps. The study also estimates that a consumer will use a compact fluorescent light in a table lamp 4.7 hours per day.

If your clients really want to save electricity, you might want to tell them about AWX Co.'s S13 and S18 Series compact fluorescent table lamps. Instead of the standard Edison base, each lamp is fitted with an electronic ballast that will only accept a compact fluorescent light. The manufacturer says that the ballast has a design life of 40,000 hours. Each lamp comes with an 18-watt Osram or G.E. four-pin light, which is equivalent in lumen output to a 75-watt incandescent. The table lamp costs under $43.00, but is available to utilities with a quantity discount. It's available in five colors: Sand, Black, Wedgewood, Wildberry and Hunter's Green.
