Phenix Biocomposites, Inc. now offers two flooring products, Accent Flooring Strips and Prefinished Flooring. Accent Flooring Strips look like granite, but can be cut, sanded and nailed just like wood. They are 3/4 in. thick and come with a tongue-and-groove that fits with standard wood strip flooring. The strips are 72 in. long and either 1-1/2 in. or 3 in. wide. It comes in ten colors, which extends through the entire thickness of the material, making it easy to sand out scratches and nicks. The 3/8-in.-thick Environ biocomposite Prefinished Flooring can be used alone or incorporated with other prefinished flooring. It also comes in the ten standard colors and in 1-1/2-in. and 3-in. widths. Environ biocomposite is made from an advanced soybean resin reinforced with waste paper fiber. The final product is harder than red oak. Environ biocomposite also comes in sheets that are used for countertops, wall panels and other items.
