Construction Waste Recycling and Recycled Materials

Wood, cardboard and metal are separated and recycled using this small utility trailer. About 50 percent of the construction waste was diverted from the landfill.

The eco-shake shingles from Re-New Wood are formed like cedar shakes, but they are made from recycled plastic and wood waste and carry a 50-year warranty and a Class A fire rating.

The concrete floors are placed between temporary screed boards. The boards will be removed and replaced with tile. This concrete pour included 30 percent fly ash.

Bonded Logic's UltraTouch cotton batts are still visible in the walls. They are made from 100 percent post-industrial recycled denim fabric.

With living spaces on the upper floor, a deck was necessary for a bit of outdoor living space. The decking itself is recycled plastic/wood composite. It's long-lasting and zero-maintenance.
