e-coat® Recycled Paint

In 1992, Kelly-Moore Paint Company began working with the San Bernardino County Department of Environmental Services to provide a safer, more environmentally responsible way to dispose of leftover latex paint. Now these efforts are conducted by a separate operating division of Kelly-Moore called e-coat. At first, latex paint collected through the County's Hazardous Waste Collection Program was reprocessed for use in the County's graffiti abatement, low cost housing and volunteer beautification projects. Now the ecoat Division also accepts leftover paint directly from its commercial and industrial customers and sells the product to consumers and government agencies. e-coat paints contain from 50 to 80 percent recycled paint and comes in six earth tone color. The remanufacturing process includes sorting, testing, filtering, mixing and adjusting quality. New ingredients are often added to assure consistent performance, coverage and color consistency. One gallon covers 200 - 350 square feet. It can be used on interior or exterior surfaces. e-coat meets the requirements of the Federal Government and the State of California. It is available in five gallon buckets through selected Kelly-Moore paint stores and dealers.
