Most bath fans are too noisy to use and when they are running they move too little air to provide effective ventilation. The American Aldes SV160 solves both problems. First, the SV160 uses a quiet, energy-efficient external rotor motor mounted in an acoustically insulated case. The rectangular fan unit is located out of the way in an attic, crawlspace, joist cavity, drop ceiling or closet to further muffle noise. Second, it's 160 cfm capacity offers enough power to ventilate the largest bathroom. The unit offers two 40 cfm exhaust ports and one 80 cfm port. Typically, a six-inch duct runs from the larger port to the shower area where moisture levels are highest. Ducts from the other two ports draw stale air from other points, either in the same room or in other rooms. The fan unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The duct connection manifold can be rotated for maximum installation flexibility. American Aldes offers the fan alone or with a package of connections and terminal grilles. See the American Aldes Web site for information on their comprehensive line of ventilation products or complete the online literature request form.
American Aldes offers a unique grille for fresh air ventilation systems. This grille assures constant air flow regardless of duct pressure, which greatly simplifies the design and installation of multi-point ventilation systems. The new Constant Exhaust Grille (CEG) can be specified with a fixed air flow rate from 10 to 50 cubic feet per minute (cfm) or with a two-step flow rate from 10 to 80 cfm. The two-step model provides a constant low level background ventilation rate, but allows a boost in air flow when needed. This two-step flow makes it possible to provide both background and spot ventilation to bathrooms and kitchens with the same remote-mounted fan or heat recovery ventilator.
