MAC Mechanical Air Cleaner

Mechanical Air CleanerCarrier's MAC Mechanical Air Cleaner offers high dust holding capacity and easy maintenance. The cartridge media-style MAC also offers low static pressure drop and is versatile enough to work with marginal duct systems. The disposable pleated filter captures dust, dirt, pollen bacteria, pet dander and other allergens, removing particles as small as .03 microns. High dust holding capacity means the filter must be changed only once in each heating or cooling season (twice a year). It requires no electricity to operate and doesn't produce ozone. The MAC can be upgraded to an electronic air cleaner without altering the ductwork.

WeatherMaker

Weathermaker Air ConditionerCarrier Corporation’s new WeatherMaker™ heat pumps and air conditioners combine high efficiency with a new chlorine-free refrigerant called Puron™ (also called R-410A). This refrigerant is expected to be the leading replacement for the ozone-depleting R-22 now used extensively in residential heating and cooling systems. R-22 is scheduled to be phased out by 2010. Savvy home owners are anticipating rising service costs associated with R-22 equipment as supplies of the refrigerant decline. Carrier’s new WeatherMaker line hopes to give consumers confidence that they have a comfort system that will last. WeatherMaker air conditioners have Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratings (SEERs) ranging from 12 to 15.5 with properly matched indoor equipment. The SEER rating of the WeatherMaker heat pump ranges from 13 to 14.5, while its Heating Season Performance Factor achieves 8.5. The new WeatherMaker models with Puron meet the manufacturing, energy efficiency, sound levels and packaging criteria for Green Seal, a national, non-profit environmental labeling organization. They also meet Energy Star energy efficient performance guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
