Waterfurnace
Synergy3
 Radiant floor heat provides superior comfort, but summer cooling has been a limitation. Waterfurnace's new Synergy3 system breaks through the limitation by offering forced-air heating and cooling plus enough water heating capacity to drive a radiant floor heating system. All this with the high efficiency of a ground source heat pump. Typical installations include a buffer tank to store heated water until its needed to circulate through the floor heating loop. There's also a back up electric resistance water heater to step in if the compressor were to fail.
Three models are available, offering 4, 5 and 6 tons of cooling capacity. Synergy3 has a heating COP of 3.2 and a cooling Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 13.8 to 15.0. The unit contains a Copeland Scroll® compressor. Variable-speed blower motors offer quiet, comfortable operation. Microprocessor control provides intelligent staging and control options. The system qualifies under EPA's Energy Star® program.
