Home Slicker provides a continuous, vertically-channeled air and drainage space along the entire wall. This rainscreen allows bulk moisture that penetrates the siding (from driven rain or capillary movement) to drain away. It also allows siding to dry adequately and evenly. The three-dimensional Nylon matrix is rolled out on to the wall system over the housewrap or building paper with the siding applied over it. Home Slicker can protect and lower moisture levels in various siding systems, but is especially effective for wood lap siding, wood shingles or shakes, fiber cement, EIFS (exterior insulation and finish systems) and brick. The rainscreen helps preserve exterior siding material, extend the life of paint and stain and protect the sheathing below.
HomeSlicker has a Class A fire rating, with a Flame Spread Index of 15 and a Smoke Developed value at 50.
Each roll is 39 inches wide by 46–1/2 feet long and covers 150 square feet. It is flexible and lightweight (only seven pounds per roll) and is easily installed by stapling or tacking every three square feet.
