Orbit/UMI Features Vacancy/Occupancy Sensors with 1,300 Sq. Ft. of Coverage

LOS ANGELES, CA — Orbit Industries/UMI has introduced a new series of vacancy/occupancy sensors that help save energy in public buildings and private residences. The sensors automatically optimize the Auto Off Time Delay to a minimum for safety.

The devices utilize passive infrared sensor technology and have an LED indicator. They are 800W-rated for incandescent at 120VAC and 800VA-rated for fluorescent at 120VAC. Adjustable time delays can be set from 15 seconds to 30 minutes. Sensitivity settings are also adjustable.

Both models are offered in white, ivory or almond and cover plates are included. Sensors have a five-year warranty.

Vacancy sensors are CA Title 24 compliant and include 180° of coverage in a 1,300 square foot area. To turn the lights on, a manual ON switch must be activated; the device then turns lights off when motion ceases.

Occupancy sensors cover either 150° or 180° in a 1,300 square foot area.  When an area is occupied, the lights turn On automatically. An automatic Off can be activated after a time delay or manual On/Off.  The Occupancy sensors also have Always On or Always Off settings.
