BALEBLOCK combines the insulating value of straw with the structural strength of concrete. BALEBLOCK is an insulated form block made from standard strawbales. Using the BALEBLOCK machine cavities are drilled into the bales. Once the bales are stacked and steel reinforcing installed, the cavities are filledwith concrete to create a post-and-beam structural system. The structural concrete is completely wrapped in insulating straw. Rough framing for doors and windows is anchored to the concrete posts using steel bolts. If a partial BALEBLOCK is required, it can be retied to the proper size and split. BALEBLOCKS can be ordered through a supplier or you can make them at your own building site with the BALEBLOCK machine.
