What is Arxx?

The Arxx High Performance Wallsystem (formerly known as AAB Building System's Bluemaxx) consists of interlocking, lightweight expanded polystyrene forms. Designed to be an integral part of the wall, the forms remain in place after the concrete is poured. The insulating capacity of expanded polystyrene coupled with the structural integrity of reinforced concrete makes Arxx walls strong, safe, quiet and energy efficient. Arxx High Performance Wallsystems can be used in residential and small commercial buildings.

Energy Efficiency

The Arxx energy solution eliminates three main causes of wasted energy.

a continuous monolithic concrete wall, unbroken by air spaces or studs, with zero heat-robbing air leakage. Superior air tightness eliminates drafts, increasing overall comfort and reducing energy costs.
a wall assembly with an energy performance that is greater than the sum of its parts. A concrete home's "thermal mass effect" offers energy performance much better than a wood-frame building with the same insulation value.
below grade walls are insulated to the same high standard as above grade walls.

Environmental Protection

Arxx homes use only a fraction of the energy consumed by most homes, which reduces the impact of extraction, transportation, generation and pollution (including global warming) associated with heating and cooling a building. Deforestation is reduced by eliminating much of the wood framing. Job site waste is greatly reduced and all Arxx remnants are recyclable. Absolutely, no harmful CFCs or HCFCs are used in the manufacturing process.
